Welcome

The library at Winnona Park Elementary is the heart of our school — a cozy, welcoming place where every student feels like they belong. Our goal is to help every child cultivate a lifelong love of books, reading, and imagination. By the time students leave our school, they are confident and independent learners who love to read and know how to find their next favorite book. We also work on developing critical thinking skills as we talk about sources of information and whether they are "fact" or "fiction."
Our Library Mission
Reading is the foundation for everything children can imagine, explore, and learn. Our library is a welcoming, cheerful space where children can fall in love with books, discover new interests, and engage in experiences that support their growth as confident, capable readers. By fostering curiosity and a love of reading, we help lay the groundwork for all future learning.
Our Library Program includes:
-
A warm and inviting space that nurtures a love of books and stories.
-
A thoughtfully curated collection of literature and "just right" books that support early literacy development and spark curiosity.
-
Activities for students that foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. We provide students with opportunities to innovate and create through imagination, tinkering, playing, and experimenting.
-
Support for classroom curricular goals and objectives, as well as student achievement, through collaboration with teachers.
-
Resources for families to help support reading at home, manage technology use, and explore other related topics.
